The Future is here for BMW!

BMW, or Bayerrische Motoren Werke AG, has always been known for their luxury vehicles, motorcycles, and for their motor sport subsidiary, BMW M. But now, they have changed the entire automotive industry with the BMW i3 and the BMW i8. The concept car for the BMW i8 was first shown in the movie, "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol." However, during that time, people believed that it was just a myth that such a car would never be made by BMW. But now, it's here.

The company is already selling the BMW i3, which is a five door urban electric car, and it is BMW's first ever zero emissions car. This little car has an electric motor, which is equivalent to a two-cylinder engine, that creates 170 hp and it has a lot of torque, to be specific, 184-lb-ft. The car has an impressive 0-60 mph time, 7.0 sec. The pricing is surprising as well, just starting at $45,000.

But what is even more extraordinary is the BMW i8, which has a 3-cylinder, 1.5 liter, turbocharged engine, which produces 228 hp and 236-lb-ft of torque. But wait, it gets better! The car also has an electric motor that produces 129 hp and 184-lb-ft of torque in the front wheels and it has 8 hp rear motors. So in total, the car has about 357 hp and 420-lb-ft of torque. The car starts at $136,625, which I think is a great bargain, considering the fact that majority of the car is carbon fiber, and it is AWD.

All I have to say is kudos to BMW.
